We Are Better Than This
April 12, 2015Your Family Matters
April 12, 2015In the game of life, it is a good thing to win. Most people want to win in life but the question is how? Some choose to win by cheating their way. Others choose to win by stepping on people. I think its best to win the old fashion way. One of the reasons why the world is in a big mess today is because people are trying to win in life the wrong way. There is nothing wrong with winning if you do it the old fashion way. Briefly, let me tell you how.
God has given everyone gifts and talents to win in life. The problem is that many people failed to use what they got. Some people even dare to hide their gifts and talents instead of trading or using it for profitable pursuit. In order to win in the game of life, you have to get in the game. Also, let me remind you that life is not a hobby but a serious business. If you are serious about winning, you must take life seriously. For example, playing music is a hobby for me. I have a music studio in my home with all the latest gears to play and have fun. Guess what, I work in my studio when I want to, show up when I feel like it and shut it down at my own convenience. Why because it is just a hobby and I really don’t expect any reward from it. But as for the five paid music staff in my church, music is more than a hobby for them. It is their business, it is their career and it is their profession. They wake up with music, go to bed with music and exact pressure on their lives to make the most out of their musical talent and gift.
Many people failed in life due to the fact that they approach life like it is a hobby. They want to win in life, but they are not willing to pay the price for winning. There are too many people walking around with various gifts and talents from God and not using the same to get in the game of life and win. God requires everyone to be diligent in the use of their gifts and talents. You cannot face life casually or treat it like it is a hobby and expect great win. A casual approach to life can only produce a casual result. For example, there are many teachers in the school system but not everyone is equally diligent. Likewise, there are many pastors, leaders, parents, business men and women doing similar things in their various calling but getting different results. The degree of one’s diligence may well account for who win or loose in the game of life. In short, you cannot get out of anything more than you put into it.
In good old USA, all the Stars and Super stars in most sports are made in privacy. Yes, we see them on game day doing spectacular things on the field, but the reality is that they have invested a lot of time in privacy to excel in their sport. It takes diligence, it takes discipline, it takes hard work, it takes sacrifice, and it takes commitment and dedication. These are things that most winners do behind the scenes. Like wise, in your life and mine, what people see us do in the open ought to be a direct result of what we have done behind the scene. Let no one deceive you, most winners are not born, they are made. Many people see a winner and they think that he or she is just lucky. Frankly, no real winner goes through life chasing luck. But when genuine preparation is met with opportunity, there is bound to be a win. In short, it is the seriousness of your approach to life that will determine the gloriousness of your result.
To me, even serving God is a serious business. I’ve never done anything for God casually. In fact, for the most part, I over do it. I pray that you will hear the heart of God in this matter. God said, if you will diligently hearken to His voice and observe all what He commands. He will set you high above all nations. (Deuteronomy 28:1) It means that until you play your part diligently, God is not committed. So, it is the quality of your input that will determine the quality of your output. It’s time to identify your gifts and talents, use it to the best of your ability and maximize every opportunity that life puts before you. See you at the TOP.
